(The most common error)
We analyzed the data from the previous studies.
对: We analyzed data from previous studies.
Sample size was calculated using formula.
对: Sample size was calculated using a formula.
We measured the temperature and the humidity in rooms.
对: We measured temperature and humidity in the rooms.
原因:第二个"the"错误。"rooms"特指研究场所,第一个"the"正确;
→ a/an (a study, an investigation)
→ the (the study mentioned earlier)
→ a/an
→ the (the data we collected, the methods described)
(Patients often experience...)
"We included [a/the/零冠词] patients with [a/the/零冠词] disease."
答:We included [零冠词] patients with [the/零冠词] disease.
(Preposition mistakes)
1. between vs. among
错: There were differences between the three groups.
对: There were differences among the three groups.
2. on vs. in vs. at (时间)
错: We observed results on 12 weeks.
对: We observed results at 12 weeks. / at the 12-week timepoint.
(时间点用at; 时间段用in或over)
3. compared to vs. compared with
错: The treatment group, compared to the control group, showed better outcomes.
对: The treatment group, compared with the control group, showed better outcomes.
4. consist of vs. be composed of
错: The sample is consisted of 120 patients.
对: The sample consisted of 120 patients. / The sample was composed of 120 patients.
(consist of不用被动; be composed of才能用被动)
5. in vitro vs. in vivo
We performed experiments in the vitro and in the vivo.
对: We performed in vitro and in vivo experiments.
在您的论文中搜索常见介词(on, in, at, between, among, compared to/with),逐一检查:
|---|---|---|
| “…在周4” | “at week 4″或”at the 4-week timepoint” | “in week 4″也可 |
| “…相比” | “compared with” | “compared to”也可 |
| “…由…组成” | “consisted of” | “was made up of”也可 |
| “…基于” | “based on”或”based upon” | “based on”更现代 |
While conducting the experiment, the temperature fluctuated significantly.
While we conducted the experiment, the temperature fluctuated significantly.
或: During the experiment, the temperature fluctuated significantly.
By using regression analysis, the relationship between variables was determined.
We used regression analysis to determine the relationship between variables.
或: Using regression analysis, we determined the relationship between variables.
While measuring blood pressure, the heart rate was also recorded."
└─ 主句主语:"the heart rate"
改为:
"While we measured blood pressure, we also recorded the heart rate."
或"Blood pressure and heart rate were measured simultaneously."
The results were obtained through statistical analysis of the data which was
collected from 120 patients who were divided into two groups and were treated
with different interventions for 12 weeks.
We analyzed data from 120 patients divided into two treatment groups over
12 weeks.
The drug was approved by FDA in 2024.
Patients were randomized using a computer-generated sequence.
Data were collected using a validated questionnaire.
1. ❌ Results
A significant difference was observed between groups.
对: The treatment group showed significantly better outcomes than control.
The results were expected to be obtained.
对: We expected to obtain the results.
|---|---|---|---|
| Abstract | 过去式 | 描述已完成的工作 | “We conducted an RCT involving 120 patients.” |
| Methods | 过去式 | 描述已实施的方法 | “We measured blood pressure using…” |
(present) which contrasts with previous findings (past).” |
错: The Methods section describes [过去式] the study design. This study involves
[现在式] 200 patients with disease X, which presents [现在式] with multiple
symptoms...
The Methods section described the study design. The study involved 200 patients
with disease X, which presented with multiple symptoms...
错: The results show [现在式] that treatment A reduces [现在式] pain significantly.
The results showed that treatment A reduced pain significantly.
(False cognates & word precision)
1. "accomplish"
We accomplished the experiment in 12 weeks.
对: We completed the experiment in 12 weeks.
2. "inform"
The informed consent form informs patients of risks.
对: The informed consent form apprises patients of risks.
3. "significant"
错: The results are significant.
The results are statistically significant. / clinically meaningful.
4. "evaluation" vs. "assessment"
错: We performed an evaluation of the treatment effect.
对: We performed an assessment of the treatment effect.
"patient's condition improved" → "symptoms resolved" / "laboratory values normalized"
"strong effect" → "substantial/marked effect" 或"large effect size"
"we found that" → "we observed" / "we demonstrated" / "results indicated"
"many studies" → "multiple studies" / "numerous studies"
"old data" → "historical data" / "legacy data" (对于旧文献)
The study was a randomized, controlled clinical trial. The trial involved
random assignment of participants to treatment and control groups.
对: This randomized controlled trial assigned participants to treatment or
control groups.
In view of the fact that disease X is increasing in prevalence, it is
important that we develop new therapeutic strategies.
对: As disease X prevalence increases, new therapeutic strategies are needed.
3. "It is well known that..."
It goes without saying that patients prefer effective treatment.
对: Patients clearly prefer effective treatment.
In the context of the treatment approach with the drug in the management
of the disease...
对: In treating disease X with drug Y...
There is an association between age and disease severity.
Age correlates with disease severity. / Age predicts disease severity.
There was a reduction in symptoms in the treatment group.
The treatment group showed symptom reduction. / Symptoms reduced in the
treatment group.
- 搜索您常犯的错误(如”between”、”on weeks”)
-
- Results
-
删除不必要的”there is/are”
-
- Methods:
- Discussion:
"We performed a [type of study] involving [n] [population] to investigate
[research question]."
"The [intervention] group showed significantly [better/greater] [outcome]
compared with [control] (p=X.XXX)."
[ ] 冠词:a/an/the/零冠词的使用是否合理?(重点检查Methods和Results)
[ ] 介词:介词是否与动词搭配正确?(between/among, on/at/in等)
专业语言编辑的ROI(投资回报率)
